Behind the scenes of our well-known vehicles, MOIA GmbH develops the technical products underlying MOIA. Our team of more than 200 employees develops an on-demand ridepooling service in the form of an end-to-end integrated product, from hub, fleet, and driver management to passenger and B2B solutions. At our offices in Berlin and Hamburg, international teams of all kinds of different fields work on a shared mission. As a tech company, more than half of our employees are developers.

As a Working Student, you will be working on challenging projects with high impact. You work together with your buddy who will help you to identify project goals, while also inspiring you, mentoring you and supporting your professional development. We embrace individual growth at MOIA. 

You will become part of one of our teams and will support your team in their daily work with a lot of opportunities to learn and take over responsibility. We know your first priority are your studies, and they should be! However, this position helps you gain practical experiences and gives you a glimpse into a tech company with an emphasis on learning culture, ownership, collaboration, and a diverse tech stack.

We are a diverse group of mostly students, who are curious, motivated and always eager to learn new things. Our community consists of approx.15 people, living in Hamburg and Berlin. We get together regularly to discuss different topics like sharing projects from our daily work, workshops focusing on personal growth or just to have some fun. 

 

About your team

The Product Strategy and Mobility Analytics team reports directly to our CPO and works closely with the entire product team. We ensure that MOIA develops the right products to sustainably change urban mobility. To do this, we analyze market and competitive dynamics and identify the strategic consequences for all of MOIA's activities and products. With the help of our mobility simulations, we carry out assessments ranging from detailed product features to holistic urban mobility scenarios. 

 

The role and your impact at MOIA

As part of our product team you will help to develop and test future moia ride-pooling systems in a fast evolving transport environment. The following topics will be part of your daily routine at MOIA:

  • Analyze and process data 
  • Apply state-of-the-art simulation methods on real-world scenarios 
  • Develop and test new ride-pooling features and scenarios 
  • Integrate spatial data into our mobility model
  • Precisely document new findings for our management
  • Work together with diverse MOIA teams and support our internal product development 

Specific job responsibilities and detailed projects within your team will be determined based on your educational background, interests and skills. 

That's why we need great people who

Must haves

  • are enrolled in a study program with focus on transportation planning, data analytics, computer science or similar 
  • have strong analytical competence, and high level of accuracy 
  • are experienced with the scripting languages Python or R & Java
  • feel comfortable to communicate in English

Nice to haves

  • are experienced with Git and Maven
  • already worked with the simulation environment MATSim 
  • are fluent in German as well
