About the team

In the In-Vehicle team, we have a diverse set of experiences from backend, networking, embedded software, and hardware that develop the applications and tools used to enable MOIA vehicles for ridesharing. While maintaining and monitoring in-vehicle components of our current fleet we also work on bringing the vision of an autonomously driving mobility service to reality. In that context, we develop safety-critical routines like computer vision-based cabin surveillance and customer-facing applications like passenger HMI. 

What you will do

  • Work in a bottom-up managed, autonomous, cross-functional team together with other talented engineers
  • Participate in the full development life cycle, from design to implementation, quality assurance and maintenance
  • Research and develop passenger management systems for an autonomously driving mobility service
  • Bridge the data flow of the AWS based backend infrastructure and the in-vehicle components using AWS IoT services (e.g. telemetry data, camera stream, metrics Develop and improve the backend services used to manage in-vehicle components (e.g. OTA updates)
  • Extend and improve existing monitoring systems used to track the state of our fleet
  • Interface with VW Group, vendors, and other partners to align on software interfaces, tooling and hardware 

What will help you to fulfill your role

  • Working knowledge with one or more of GoKotlinTypescript
  • Experience with AWS serverless technologies and AWS IoT
  • Familiarity with communication protocols used to connect edge devices (e.g. MQTT)
  • General understanding of the Linux platform
  • Interest in ARM-based SBCs
  • Knowledge of current trends in software design, event-driven architecture, DevOps and a strong interest in further development
  • Interest in applying agile development practices
  • Proactive, flexible and hands-on mindset
